i wrote this for something else, but it didn't pan out. enjoy.

The world lost a pint-sized gem in the acting treasure chest today, Miss Zelda Rubinstein. Horror fans and - let’s face it, most people - know her best as the medium Tangina from the Poltergeist series. Sporting an Elvis-inspired pompadour and Buford T. Justice sunglasses, her tiny frame somehow managed to magically straddle the gorge between creepy and delightful.

No matter how big or small her role – no pun intended - she had complete ownership of the screen whenever and wherever she appeared. Much of it had to do with that fantastic piccolo voice that could soothe you to sleep or haunt your dreams. Let us not forget her small role as the organist in Sixteen Candles. Shuffling down the church isle with her handbag and hat…

Okay, let’s get down to business. Teen Witch is why I feel in love with this woman. An old psychic in much need of a man, helping a nerdy teenager discover her powers with a found amulet? Isn’t this every girl’s dream? Louise Miller would not have been able to transform into the most popular girl without Madame Serena by her side.

I have a few crazy fantasies about Zelda. I wanted so badly to believe it was really her as Norma Jean White in “Dancing Outlaw”. In my wildest dreams, she has won the Oscar for her portrayal of Kim Jung Il. (C’mon look at the first photo…) However, there is no point in dwelling on what could have been. I may not be able to pick her up and keep her in my pocket, but I have found a warm spot to place her in my heart. Godspeed Zelda.

One last thing:

i'm lookin' at the man in the mirror, i'm yours.

i'm slowly creeping my stuff in to the new apartment. my room has already been given the name, "anne frank's annex". it's more than half the size of my bedroom at home, but i intend to make the best of it. perhaps i'll play "holocaust" and sit quietly in my room and look at the photos of movies stars on the wall; possibly writing in a diary of some sort.

i just might be ready to live in the bea hive.

"i am so proud of myself!"

paul and i went over to my cousins' house to take some pictures for his class. as soon as we got in the backyard, and the boys got their bow and arrows, layah yelled, "BUNNY". they both aimed, and one let go. in shock, we could only watch it flop around. i must say it's pretty impressive for a six year old... it's frightening to know how easily he could shoot me.

GIT UH LYFE.

life of natalie update:
-i haven't done much in the past few days; it's been too hot.
-i haven't done anything aerobic in three days, but i did have burger king, taco bell, and wendy's.
-i'm taking an online comedy sketch writing class through second city. (encouragement accepted.)
-i'm currently wearing a bikini top.
-caitlin and john are coming over next weekend to prove that i do have a social life.
-in less than 100 days, i'll be in disney world. STARSHIP will be performing in epcot.

i've been thinking about:

-disney world.
-hanna barbera cartoons.
-how older people/doctors say "period." example: "when was your last period?" they seem to pronounce it like perrriod instead of peeeriod. by changing the pronunciation, it sounds 10x more bloody and gross.
-the fact that i have yet to learn every word to "damn i wish i was your lover" by sophie b. hawkins.

I STILL EXIST.

mustard in my bed.

the monthly library book sale  DID NOT disappoint. whatsoever.
-fabio fitness: $1
-queen latifah,
all hail the queen: $1
-complete guide to the music of the carpenters: 25 cents
-the teenage years sexual development VHS: 50 cents
-aggression in school VHS: 50 cents
-crack down on drugs VHS: 50 cents
-best of dana carvey VHS: 50 cents
-two secret presents for caitlin: 75 cents

fabio fitness is slightly disappointing. only one page is dedicated to "lovemaking".  he should have written at least two chapters on the subject. c'mon fab, you were an assortment of sexual characters on romance novel covers and you can only give the world one page?! a chapter on pirate ship ridin'- ripped shirt wearin'-calorie burnin'-lovemaking would certainly have helped sell...  yuck, "lovemaking".  i'm pretty positive i will never actually read this book, but i'll look at the pictures.
